Write to your MP

The consultation has closed. The Government is now writing its response, and MPs are the ones who can put the evidence in front of the Minister before the rules are drafted. Two minutes, in your own words.

What we are asking MPs to do

  • Support a licensing scheme for every shop that sells vapes, with the fees paid to the Trading Standards teams who do the checking.
  • Create a clear legal definition of a specialist vape shop: adults only, trained staff, a licence that can be taken away.
  • Keep a clear distinction between vaping and smoking. No plain white packs and no grey-only devices.
  • Back the proposals that stop children being targeted, including devices disguised as toys and cartoon packaging.
  • Make the under-18 ban count: a minimum number of checks every year, and the results published by council.
  • Give licensed specialist vape shops the same limited display right as pharmacies.
  • Ask the Minister how many underage test purchases are carried out each year, and by how many officers.
